St. Jean Vianney Catholic Church Parish in Baton Rouge is searching for a Director of its Early Learning and Growth School, commonly called the Early Learning Center, of ELC. The ELC is for children 1 to 3 years old. Creative playtime includes learning modules and simple Catholic faith formation for students. The director oversees the entire program of the ELC including setting curricula, financial and personnel management. The director is flexible and works closely with an assistant director, the pastor, the parish staff, the parish finance board and the leadership of the St. Jean Vianney Catholic Elementary School.
Applicants must be at least 21 years of age and be a practicing Catholic in good standing. Applicants shall have documentation of at least one of the following upon date of hire as director:
1. An early childhood ancillary certificate and one year of experience in teaching or care in a licensed early learning center or comparable setting, subject to approval by the state regulatory agency;
2.A national administrator credential and one year experience in teaching or care in a licensed early learning center, or comparable setting, plus 6 credit hours or 90 clock hours of training in child care, child development, early childhood, or management/administration, subject to approval by the state regulatory agency; or
3.Three years of experience as a director or staff in a licensed early learning center, or comparable setting, subject to approval by the state regulatory agency, plus 6 credit hours or 90 clock hours of training in child care, child development, early childhood, or management/administration approved by the state regulatory agency.
This an exempt position and is full-time. Compensation is commensurate with experience and qualifications. Benefits and PTO are included. Start date is July 1, 2023, but ELS will compensate new hire for two weeks prior to July 1 for participating in a comprehensive orientation to the ELC and related entities.
