About our Child Protection Policies
All adults, over the age of 18, who work in ministry to children, youth, and vulnerable adults of St. Jean Vianney Parish and School are required to go through a background check process and Child Protection Training. Requirements vary according to the ministry.

The Roman Catholic Church of the Diocese of Baton Rouge has issued a Code of Ethics and Behavior for Adults who minister with minors and vulnerable adults.

DIRECTIONS FOR COMPLETING CHILD PROTECTION TRAINING

Thank you for volunteering at St. Jean Vianney Catholic Church in your ministry.

Below you will find the instructions for completing the required Child Protection volunteer coursework from the Catholic Diocese of Baton Rouge. This is for everyone that is working with children 18 years and older and/or vulnerable adults in our parish.

  1. Please fill out the CONTACT information below and submit it. You will receive further instructions following this submission.
  2. Scroll down to the CAPS Declaration – please fill this out and email it to [email protected] or bring it to the parish office.

Once a year, you will be asked to re-sign the Diocesan Code of Ethics.

No one is allowed to volunteer until the volunteer coursework has been completed and submitted to psr@stjeanvianney.org or brought to the church office.

Thank you so much for being a part of St. Jean Vianney faith community and working with us to keep all of our children and vulnerable populations safe.
If you have any questions, please never hesitate to call Kerry Ferrara at the church office 225-753-7950. We are here to assist you in any way that we can.
