St Jean Vianney Church has developed an on-line baptismal preparation process. This was devised in response to COVID-19 restrictions regarding transmission of the virus. Baptisms are being done at St Jean Vianney! However, we have made some adjustments in the following ways:
The Baptismal Home Visit is now virtual. Fr. Tom, or Deacon Dan Borne, Jeff Easley, Ricky Patterson or Brent Duplessis will contact you and invite you to a ZOOM Home Visit. We can accomplish the Home Visit’s end in mind: fieldany questions you have about baptism or the parish; work out any issuesthat need to be considered before the baptism, and schedule the baptism date and time. Outside of the pandemic, baptisms were done within aSunday Mass once a month. During the pandemic, baptisms during Masshave been suspended and for now are all privately done with family only. The home visit is friendly and hopefully practically helpful.
The next step is to participate in the online preparation. Who should participate? Mom and Dad, and the two godparent candidates.
Before you start, know that the videos average about 3-4 minutes in length. Each video builds on the other. Please follow them in sequence. Each short video addresses an aspect of preparing you to nourish the baptismal faithof your child or godchild and also the actual baptism ceremony.
Once you have completed the videos, please fill out the certificate .
As stated in the videos please call the parish office (225) 753-7950 for any remaining questions or concerns.
